Layla and Lucy were resting on the beach. They were facing the ocean, glaring at the horizon. These two have been close since childhood. Even though each found the other’s way of thinking quite strange, they never left each other’s side. There was little time left before the veil of the night covered the day.

“What would happen if…?” said Lucy, with a knowing smile towards her friend.

By breaking that silence, she brought Layla out of her contemplation.

Layla smiled and tilted her head towards her friend. “Aren’t you tired of this game yet, girl?” She sighed.

Both of them had been playing this game since their childhood. An old homeless man taught it to them. The two little girls once asked him how he didn’t get bored, waiting all day for passers-by to toss him a coin. He replied that he always had something to imagine about the lives of those who were generous enough to help him.

Lucy ignored the remark, grinned like a Cheshire cat, and continued, “…there was a door on the ocean?”

Layla threw her head back in exasperation, staring at the sky this time… “Yeah, and how do we reach that door? Do we walk on water?”

“Yes, as Jesus did,” answered Lucy.
